Thirty-Nine: The Year of Standing Firm and Moving Forward

I’m officially stepping into my 39th year, and I can already feel the shift. There’s something beautiful about standing at the edge of a new chapter, one that carries both the weight of what’s been and the optimism of what’s to come.

This past year tested me in ways I didn’t expect. Living through the Eaton Canyon fire did a number on me. Within the months during and after the fire there were moments that asked me to be patient when I wanted to rush ahead, to release when I wanted to hold on, and to have faith in God’s road even when I couldn’t see the next step. But here I am after it all: still standing, still faithful, and still grateful.

Thirty-eight taught me about boundaries: setting them, respecting them, and not apologizing for them. It showed me that I don’t have to sacrifice myself for the sake of others. It taught me that peace comes from saying no when something doesn’t align. Most of all, it showed me the freedom that follows when I choose myself and my needs first, without guilt. Those lessons are coming with me into 39, and this time, they feel like second nature.

As I walk into this new year, the last one before forty, I’m focusing on living my life, chasing my happiness, and surrounding myself with only those I care about. I want to fill my life with people and experiences that make me feel joy, aligned, and along my path. I’m not chasing timelines or expectations anymore. Instead, I’m following my gut, going after my goals, and creating space for what feels right.

Thirty-nine isn’t about reinventing myself. It’s about continuing to evolve rooted, confident, and ready for everything meant for me.

Here’s to this next lap around the sun: grounded, grateful, and glowing with possibility.
