Today isn’t just Christmas. It isn’t just the day where you get together with your family and open presents around a tree. Sure that’s going to happen, but for those of you who don’t know, it’s also National Pumpkin Pie Day! It’s the annual day where you can eat as much pumpkin pie as you please, with reason. So go ahead and eat that sixth slice you’re doing it in honor of the holiday.
To celebrate the occasion I got a slice of Pumpkin Pie ($5, cash or check only) from Pie’n Burger in Pasadena. The great part about this specific pie is its smooth, soft, and has just enough spiciness that sits on the solid crust. Then there’s the light and fluffy homemade whip cream that tops every bite with pure sweetness. A single slice of Pie’n Burger’s pumpkin pie may not be sitting under the tree for you and that’s ok. However, considering it’s the day for the pastry, I highly encourage you to get a slice!
