Check Out the Delicious Deals with WeHo Bistro’s New Express Breakfast Menu and More

I think it’s safe to say that I love WeHo Bistro.

That’s easy for me to admit considering I’ve visited the restaurant many times since I discovered them. Even more, I’ve written about them a couple of times (here and here) to express just how much I adore their staff and food. What’s a better way to show that I still love them today as I much as on the day that I met them? Another review of course! You might be reading this thinking, “Danielle, you seriously talk about that West Hollywood restaurant waytoo much.” That may be true. But if I look at the way people talk about and show photos of the things they love (boyfriends, vacations, careers, their kids) then this should be no different. With that said, take a seat and get ready to read about how much I love my boyfriend … I mean WeHo Bistro. I totally mean WeHo Bistro.

I’ve mentioned in previous posts how lovely the restaurant is and that hasn’t changed. The location still has the same atmosphere that makes you want to sit in their outdoor seating with friends over brunch with no plans to leave. That ended up happening on this visit as TJ and I sat with Huong and one of the owners Jerry. We were there checking out their new Express Breakfast Menu that takes place weekdays from 9am to 11am. With no set end date in sight, the owners wanted to create a menu that could give customers the same great food, but at a reduced price during the week. ith that, the new menu features plates that are dropped by $3 from the regular price. “You mean I get the same great WeHo Bistro food at a lower cost? Um, yes please!” I love that the owners are doing this and I was so eager to try a few things to find more favorites.

weho-bistro-brunch-2To start it off, we had their bread with butter and fresh jam. To say they know how I like my carbs would be an understatement. Looking over the menu in between slices of bread was kind of difficult. I didn’t know what to order since everything read so nicely. Did I order sensibly? Of course not!

To start, I got the Breakfast Parfait ($9). A beautiful glass was layered with yogurt, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and sprinkled with granola. The varying colors caught my eye, but it was the way the sweet fruit paired with the tart yogurt that made it hard for me to keep my spoon from the glass. The texture of the granola was a lovely contrast to the smoothness that came from the yogurt and fruit. While it was delicious this way, drizzling honey on top of it amplified the sweetness of it all. I’d suggest trying it without the honey first and then pouring a bit on it until your parfait is transformed into the sweet and smooth starter you could want to kick off your breakfast.

To go along with my parfait, I ordered the Classic Breakfast ($10). The breakfast took two organic eggs with potatoes, merguez, and a small side salad. The plate looked simple since I didn’t order waffles or pancakes to go with it, but it turns out I didn’t need them after having the parfait! I really liked that this breakfast was filling in spite of appearing small. My lightly seasoned potatoes were delicious as I dipped them into the runny yolk in the eggs. I did the same with the spicy beef sausage (merguez), but it turned out it held in so many flavors that it was good on its own. Ultimately, the plate ended up becoming a massive mash up where I combined bites with each other creating a friendly assembly of flavors. The delightful tastes that came from this plate should have been where I stopped, but it wasn’t.

weho-bistro-brunch-9 weho-bistro-brunch-10I ended up ordering one last dish. I got it partially because I’m a glutton and partially because I don’t have self-control. This time, I went off the Express Breakfast Menu and ordered from the everyday options. For some reason I thought I could eat more and I ordered the Bistro Filet Mignon Burger ($18). It was crazy I know, you don’t have to tell me, but it was certainly worth it! The burger was made of a half pound patty of ground prime grade Angus topped with bacon, avocado, tomatoes, a mustard seed cheese, onions, lettuce , and a homemade mayo. Served with fries this plate was more than I could manage on my own. The burger itself was so big that it came out with a knife in the center to hold it all together while it leaned to the side. The first bites were full of the fresh meat that oozed with salted juice that was accented by the bacon. Each bite almost shut my eyes closed as I enjoyed each moment. The burger became tastier as the creamy avocado fell deeper into the meat and the mayo. There was so much on this burger that it was an eruption of epic tastes that I tried to eat it all. I couldn’t finish it, but I took it home and it was still delicious hours later. Now that’s the sign of a great burger!

Not to be forgotten, TJ ordered his own plate, but clearly not as many as I did. He went off the express breakfast menu and got the Chicken Dijonnaise ($23). The plate was made of a free range chicken breast covered in a dijon mustard sauce and was served with potatoes Dauphinoise and tomato Provencal. Unable to eat another bite, I merely looked at his plate and then smelled it. It looked and smelled amazing, but the mere idea of another bite of food was too much to imagine. I simply watched as he quickly devoured it and looked pleased with himself when he was done. From his clean plate and the smile on his face, I think he was more than satisfied with his decision.

WeHo Bistro has done a great job with a new menu. Offering the same delicious breakfast items at a reduced price is exactly what the food lover like me could ask to have. Add to that, their regular menu plates are just as appetizing as always. I love the great flavors that are in each plate and the way it feels like home in the restaurant. Those attributes are the exact reasons why I will continue to write review after review for you to read about the restaurant. Almost pulling pictures out of my wallet of their food, WeHo Bistro is clearly a boyfriend I love. I mean a restaurant I love, a restaurant.

Why do I keep doing that?!?!
