Hello, Twenty-Twenty

In case you don’t know, today is January 1st, 2020. Chances are you’re fully aware, but let’s pretend that you aren’t. It’s the start of a new year and a new decade and it gives us the time to get things moving in a positive direction. It may be corny, but I love the opportunity to recreate goals and to strategize the upcoming days and months of this new year.

Looking back on 2019, life happened incredibly fast. I landed my dream career working in public affairs, I traveled, I paid off a significant amount of debt, and I got a grip on my fitness. In contrast to that excitement, there were difficulties. I couldn’t keep up with updating my website or social media, I had a hard time adding to my savings account, and was so tired that I barely saw my friends. Life moved quickly to the point that once I opened my eyes, I realized I was waking up in a totally different year. In spite of it all, I’m happy with how things went in 2019. I grew a lot, I learned even more, and I started to make concrete strides to make things happen for the future I want to have.

The way I look at things is that I laid down a foundation of growth during 2019.

What I did in the last 365 days is setting me up for what’s to come this year and I’m eager to see what will arise. It was a trial by fire type of year and the fact that I’ve come out to see the other side makes me proud of myself.  I don’t know what 2019 put you through, but I hope you’re proud that you’ve made it this far. I hope that all the things you’ve learned and experienced is setting you up for accepting nothing less than excellence. Most of all, I hope you’ve discovered the things that make you happy so you can continue with them in this year.

There’s a lot to plan, do, and accomplish this year and I can’t wait to see it all unfold (for you and for me). In case you don’t know, today is January 1st, 2020, but you probably already knew that.

Regardless, thanks for humoring me along the way.
