LN2 Restaurant Opens About Their One-Year Anniversary, What to Expect When Dining With Them, and Joining The Taste

The Taste by Los Angeles Times is coming to Paramount Studios tomorrow and if you’re looking for restaurants to check out, you can see a few of them here. With the event kicking off over Labor Day weekend, there will be rows upon rows of great restaurants where you can stand in line to try some of their best dishes. Having visited LN2 on Melrose earlier this year, I was almost gleeful to see them on event lineup this year. Knowing that they will be on the studio lot handing out their dish just gave me another reason to show up at the event. Before you go – yes I’m putting that out to the universe – I highly suggest learning a bit more about LN2. In preparation for their appearance at The Taste, I interviewed chef Chris Robbins to learn more about his restaurant, what guests can expect when dining, and more.

The Interview

Follow My Gut (FMG): LN2 opened its doors in January this year. What have you learned from running this restaurant so far?
Chris Robbins (CR): The importance of listening to our guests, when to take some time for yourself, and building the right team.

FMG: What made Melrose Avenue the best place to house LN2?
CR: We love the hustle and feel of Melrose, it is such a fun environment. We thought that putting forward a unique concept would thrive in such an eclectic area.

FMG: LN2 has such an expansive menu. How do you ideate and then decide what to add to your menus?
CR: We wanted to have something for everyone without overwhelming the guest or the kitchen.  We truly spent time with what has become our current menu both by guest feedback and studying the efficiency of each dish as it travels through its prep life.

FMG: What can guests expect when dining in your restaurant?
CR: To have fun and perhaps see or try something you haven’t had before,

FMG: Describe the personality of your brunch and dinner menus. What are some of the best dishes on each?
CR: Our dinner menu has really been a long time in the making. We feel it has evolved into a well-balanced, executable list of tastes that can satisfy any palette. Our brunch menu has a well-balanced yet tight group of morning options that is intertwined with some classic dinner menu items, keeping our signature style throughout.

FMG: What does the rest of 2019 look like for LN2? Any plans for the one-year anniversary?
CR:
We have a great space for events and expect to see a lot of groups an companies having a holiday party or enjoying some festivities on our under the stars private back patio.  We are just really excited to have been here for a year and look forward to many more

FMG: What do you hope people learn about LN2 while at The Taste?
CR:
That we have a wonderful and affordable place to come to regularly that is right in the mix of West Hollywood. Also, that we have a fun twist to all comfort foods we offer.

Getting a chance to learn more about a restaurant that I previously visited and enjoyed was a great feeling. I’m excited to see LN2 at this event showcasing their plates to a wider audience. What makes me even happier is the thought that even more people will get to discover their food and hopefully visit their restaurant. If you find yourself standing in line while at The Taste, I hope it’s for LN2. But if you can’t make it then find yourself seated in the restaurant on Melrose Avenue, you’ll enjoy your dining experience.
